From Route 95
- Take exit 57 (rte 113).
- Follow Rte. 113 East through several stoplights.
- The road will bear right into a residential area.
- Continue past the Newburyport High School on your right.
- Travel for approximately 1.5 miles.
- Take a left onto Summer Street (a one way street with a church on it’s corner), following signs to Rte. 1 and 1A North to Salisbury & Portsmouth 
- Follow Summer Street to the bottom of the hill.
- Take a left at the stop sign, under the overpass take another immediate left.onto Winter Street traveling one-way uphill.
- Joseph’s Winter Street Cafe is on your right; directly under a large pine tree covered in white lights.

From Route 495
- Take exit 55 (rte 110, Salisbury and beaches).
- Follow Rte. 110 East to the end.
- Take a right, following signs for Rte. 1.
- Travel over bridge and bear right at fork towards Downtown Newburyport
- At stop sign at the bottom of hill, travel straight across onto Winter Street
- Joseph’s Winter Street Cafe is on your right; directly under a large pine tree covered in white lights.
